On March 10, 2023, Knife River Holding Company filed publicly a draft Registration Statement on Form 10 with the SEC. The separation will result in two independent, publicly traded companies, MDU Resources Group, Inc. On August 4, 2022, MDU Resources announced that its board of directors approved a plan to pursue the separation of the Company from MDU Resources.
